This is not an organization. There are no dues, no meetings, no membership cards. There is no committee approving your questions or reviewing your methods.
The Order exists because some people cannot stop themselves from going to the place, looking carefully, and writing down what they find. They have always existed. They always will.
If you are one of them, you already belong.
WHAT WE DO
Go to the place in person. Observe without assumption. Record by hand. Ask better questions than we arrived with. Repeat.
WHAT WE WILL NOT DO
Sell the data. Take sides in conflicts that have nothing to do with the work. Claim conclusions we have not earned. Ask permission to wonder.
WHAT IS FREE
All field observations. All logs. All methods. If we found something, you can read about it here at no cost, with no account, and with no agenda.
